Opening this topic is like opening a bottomless abyss or Pandora’s box you don’t know what will come out and you don’t know if you’ll ever see the end of it. But, this is not to determine which is better, for both places to workout are good in their own right.
The focus of this discussion is to recognize the advantages both paths offer and just to put them out there. You obviously can’t determine which is better because these two paths, street, and gym workouts, are not in conflict with one another.
The street and the gym are just two places where people found ways to organize their workouts and train for different things. Each offers its advantages, and each has perhaps some disadvantages, which is what we’re talking about here.

Gym Workout
Advantages
The advantage of working out in the gym is obviously that you have access to a lot of sophisticated machinery and with that a much wider range of exercises you can do. Gyms can have large mats where you can practice gymnastics, it can have punching bags, treadmills, etc…
Of course, you can do a lot of that outside in the street as well, but sometimes the weather can stop you, or there might be other negative conditions that might impair or prevent your training completely when out in the street.
Also, gyms often have certified instructors who can greatly help with your workout and you can use many helping tools to track your progress. Lastly, gyms also have the equipment to help in recovery, like showers, first aid, and things of that nature.
Disadvantages
There aren’t many disadvantages to a gym workout, but the first one is that 99.99% of the gyms are only accessible through paid memberships, which can often be a significant toll. Memberships for some really good ones can be high, and you need to renew every month, which passes quickly, so having a paid gym membership is something you need to factor into your monthly budget.
Also, some gyms might be limited in space or machines, so you sometimes need to cue up to access certain machines you need.

Street Workout
Advantages
Street workout is free. No memberships, no fees, and no time restrictions. Sometimes people train the whole night on the street workout field, especially young people, who do it instead of going out to a bar and getting drunk or something like that.
So, the obvious benefits are right there. Street workout places today are built around the idea of people spending their time outside socializing through training. You might see someone bring some alcohol or something like that there, but those habits are rarely accepted by real guys who are there to bring it on.
Disadvantage
Besides the obvious weather and temperature disadvantage, and the lack of complex machinery, perhaps the only disadvantage of the street workout is that the training itself is more amateurish. There is rarely a professional available to advise people on proper techniques, and people are often guessing things or following some random guy’s advice, which can be wrong and very frustrating.

Our advice
Do one or do both, the priority is to train, anywhere, anytime! Work out wherever you can, in the gym, on the street, or at your home! Just keep safe and pay close attention to the quality of your training, which is not guaranteed always in the gym either.
